Okay, so, I guess I could say I made this account for a few reasons. I like to save my stuff, for posterity, in a place where people might see it, and i have the chance to get some feedback on my art. However, once I'd been online for a long enough time I started to get more and more curious about just how exactly my pageviews are going, how many watchers do I have? Do people like my dA page? And I tell myself "but Connor, you joined this site to get to know people. Your page says 'I don't care about pageviews!' ". . . So I guess, perhaps, part of the reason I've had an art block lately could be that I crave that feedback, acknowledgement of some kind. I'm not just in it to get better anymore. And I get really self conscious about how well I can actually draw real looking people. And I'd like to get over that and just start drawing things again. It's a better passtime than Minecraft, or random internet browsing, so why not try to just draw for fun, worry less about the quality...

Today's journal feels like a stream of consciousness. I think I'll leave that first paragraph as is, since some of it even surprised me. That's where my thoughts went lately. I could make a "new year's resolution" but that seems to cheapen the thing, it's a bit too cliché, I'd rather just keep the thought at the back of my mind where I know it will nag at me, reminding me to use my time better. Sometimes you remember ideas better that way, if you just don't dwell on them or make a big deal, just let 'em smolder a bit in the subconscious as it were. I can't find the quote I was thinking of but it was from that "Golden Compass" book, about keeping an idea 'in a bubble' and not touching it so that it will stay around. I like that metaphor a lot. ;)

If you're actually still reading, THE THING THAT BROUGHT ON this rather introspective odd journal post was that somebody has been posting my creepy halloween avatar in their comments, to use as a little icon when talking about vore themed stuff. And the first thing that came into my head when I saw why they took interest was "how did my art become popular with the 'vore' fans"? But then I realize it makes sense. There's all kinds of people on this site, it is called deviantArt after all, and someone's bound to show up now and then who surprises me. The Internet is full of interesting people who, unlike me, are not bashful about their more peculiar interests. And with that, to the imaginary people who actually read my journals, I wish you a somewhat belated HAPPY NEW YEARS!
